Uneventful afternoons,

spent watching the chiggers

Fall between fissures in the pavement;

Spent watching Queen Ann’s lace

On parade, adorned in their

delicate, white pauldrons.

The  raucous groans

Of old industrial times

pervade the arid breaths of Summer

This dulcet downtime ,

Hardly worth mentioning

Or writing about at length.

Hours turn on their heads,

At the Sue Sue Station,

Where locomotion

Seems all but a local, fleeting mythos.
