Silly Putty
by Christopher J. Bradley
February 14 1998

like a mostly pink ball
of changeable shape
I take the news on
as my skin

And I am tossed around
by the hands of an infinitely young
and an infinitely old
God
to be present
to witness
the many jokes
of the earth.

Can I wash this newsprint off?
Or will it turn me grey
as I get older?

And how
can I keep the beautiful
colors inside?

Perhaps the solution
is my indefinable puzzle
being worked
by His hands.
