Radiant Dawn
by Christopher J. Bradley
For Dawn McKinley
May 5 1999 6:26 AM

She rises
We watch her
Holding Hands
As the moon sets.

A neighbor looks on
As we kiss in the new light
She who has held me through darkness
Keeps my skin warm
In the dewy morning grass
Where we sit cross legged.

Smoke filters through the air
The black maple breathes in our decadence
While birds sing
Their voices cry out from all angles.

A car passes through the tree lined street
A traveler is headed for work
His day is beginning
All steel and concrete
And I have you

The Dawn of the Millennium.
