See the cheerful Blackbird, his yellow eyes aglow.
A songster, whose notes o’er the countryside do flow.
A delightful creature that sings when summer is nigh full,
And as I listen to his song on my heartstrings he does pull.
Oh the Blackbird the Blackbird, he sets my heart to thrill
Where ere he warbles the valleys return his tuneful trill.
He is the comforter to my soul where ere I hear his song,
For I am captive to this bird who sings the whole day long.
