Ellis Island
During the summer
The green statue on Ellis Island
Waves the torch
Above the harbor.
She was copper once
A gift from the French
And now Iacocca
Has repaired her.
I bought my dad his first Iacocca
The book about the Chrysler turn around
And I think he read the second one
When I left it in the bathroom.
We talked in the snow
In December
Just before the war
About Ellis Island And the Olympic Games.
